Best FPL premium forwards for 2026/27

Who are the best FPL premium forwards for 2026/27? Expert Fantasy Premier League manager Abdul Rehman (FPL Salah) has it covered.

Here are the premium FPL forward selections:

Erling Haaland (£15.5m) - Manchester City

No forward offers the combination of explosiveness and captaincy appeal Haaland does.

Even at his record-breaking £15.5m price tag, the Norwegian remains the benchmark for forwards.

City once again have one of the league's strongest attacks and Haaland remains the focal point of everything they do going forward.

He scored 27 goals and assisted eight last season - and he has netted a total of 112 league goals in his four seasons at City.

The fixtures are another major attraction too.

The Norwegian can score big against any team but with Bournemouth (H), Coventry (H), Sunderland (H), Ipswich (H) and Brighton (H) City's first five home games, he will be a prime captaincy in all them.

While his price forces sacrifices elsewhere, his ownership will also remain extremely high, making him one of the safest premium picks in the game.

If you're spending big on one forward, Haaland is still the obvious choice.

Alexander Isak (£9.0m) - Liverpool

Isak is arguably the next best premium striker.

The Swedish international has developed into one of the Premier League's most clinical finishers.

His debut season with Liverpool could not have gone any worse though - he was marred with injuries, which meant he only managed eight starts.

We shouldn't forget how good he is though. The Swede recorded 23 goals and six assists in the 2024/25 season and 21 goals and four assists in 2023/24 for Newcastle.

If he can stay fit, there is no doubt he is one of the best FPL options in the game. He may also be Liverpool's first-choice penalty taker.

His fitness seems to be fine now - he played plenty of minutes in the World Cup while also registering a goal and three assists. He has also so far managed one goal and an assist during Liverpool's pre-season.

The Reds also have some nice fixtures early on, as they take on Nottingham Forest (H), Ipswich (A) and Fulham (H) in their first four.

Provided he stays fit, another 20-plus goal season is well within reach.

Ollie Watkins (£8.0m) - Aston Villa

Watkins has been one of the most consistent forwards in the Premier League.

In his previous six seasons, he has hit double digits for goals. In that time, he has a total of 91 goals and 50 assists.

This just goes to show how good an FPL pick he is - he's an all-round forward who has routes to points and is nailed to start.

Season after season he delivers goals and assists, while playing virtually every match.

If Villa continue to play attacking football and compete near the top end of the table, Watkins should once again be heavily involved in their goals.

Villa start the season with two tough opening games however, as they travel to Brighton (A) and then host Arsenal (H).

From Gameweek 3 their fixtures pick up a bit, starting with an away game to newly promoted Hull.

If you want a forward who consistently ticks over with returns, Watkins remains an excellent option.

Igor Thiago (£8.0m) - Brentford

Thiago scored 22 goals last season, earning 181 FPL points and establishing himself as one of the league's most clinical finishers.

Brentford have built their attack around Thiago and there are few concerns over his minutes.

He is their undisputed first-choice striker, leads the line every week when fit and also has penalties in his locker, significantly boosting his FPL appeal.

Keith Andrews' side will no doubt retain the attacking identity that made them one of last season's surprise packages - and Thiago should continue to benefit from the creativity of players like Dango Ouattara (£6.5m) and Kevin Schade (£6.0m).

If Brentford can maintain their attacking output, another 20 goal season is possible.

Even at his increased price of £8.0m, Thiago is still a fine option and Brentford's first four games from an attacking perspective are good.

They play Spurs (H), Leeds (A), Sunderland (H) and Bournemouth (A).
