Who are the best Manchester United FPL players for the 2026/27 season?

Best Manchester United FPL players: Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m)

Fernandes broke the Premier League assists record on his way to scoring 235 FPL points, four short of Erling Haaland.

While his official total was 21, his fantasy assists tally of 24 was even higher.

No player created more big chances than his 33 and it wasn’t close, with Rayan Cherki well behind on 19.

The Portuguese playmaker averaged 6.71 points per appearance over the season but he really excelled when Michael Carrick took over from Ruben Amorim.

Carrick returned him to his preferred number 10 role and no player in the league could match his average points from that point onwards.

He was a particularly reliable captaincy option at home, with his average stretching over eight per game.

On penalties and set-pieces, Fernandes is highly appealing ahead of Gameweek 1, despite his sizeable price rise to £12.0m.

Two fixtures against promoted clubs to start the season means Fernandes remains an excellent choice.

He ranks second overall for predicted points up to Gameweek 4 (23.5).

Best Manchester United FPL players: Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m)

Mbeumo and Fernandes were closely priced last season, with Fernandes eventually proving the better pick.

But with a £4.0m difference this season, many will wonder whether they can save their money and back Mbeumo instead.

The Cameroonian scored 11 and assisted three in his first season at the club.

He was United’s joint top goalscorer alongside Benjamin Sesko, who he often started ahead of up front.

This could continue early on, with Sesko yet to feature in pre-season as he recovers from a shin injury suffered at the end of last season.

Mbeumo – who did not take part in the World Cup – looks sharp meanwhile, scoring twice in the Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid.

It is a close call between Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha at the same price. Cunha scored 10, assisted four and had the most shots on target (35).

But Hub AI marginally prefers Mbeumo, with his superior expected goals (xG) and potential minutes up front just swaying things in his favour.

Cunha also faces competition from Patrick Dorgu and perhaps Marcus Rashford on the left, although in reality both he and Mbeumo are vulnerable to an early substitution.

Owners should get enough minutes from Mbeumo to do damage against Hull (A) and Ipswich (H) though.

Best Manchester United FPL players: Harry Maguire (£5.0m)

A United triple up will be popular come Gameweek 1, leaving FPL managers deciding between double attack and double defence.

Both have their merits, with Senne Lammens in more than 20% of teams and Luke Shaw offering value at £4.5m.

Our third pick however goes to Maguire, who costs the same as Lammens at £5.0m.

Maguire offers a greater likelihood of defensive contribution points than Shaw, albeit not regularly scoring them last season.

He might however take over from Casemiro as United’s main aerial threat from Fernandes’s set-pieces.

Carrick’s men ranked second for set-piece goals (26) behind Arsenal (29), with the Fernandes-Casemiro link-up a regular combination.
