Best Arsenal FPL players 2026/27: Christos Tzolis (£6.5m)

Arsenal’s new man Tzolis impressed in the Community Shield, picking up two assists in the 3-0 win over Manchester City.

The Greek winger is available for just £6.5m in FPL, and compared to some of the other midfield options at that price point he is playing in a far superior attack.

Only City outperformed Arsenal for goals and xG (expected goals) last season, and Tzolis looks set to start the season as first choice on the left wing for the high flying Gunners, and even has a share of set-pieces.

The 24-year-old came in to replace Leandro Trossard having produced an incredible 40 attacking returns in the league for Club Brugge last season, with 17 goals and 23 assists.

Perhaps priced lower due to competition from Gabriel Martinelli and potential new signings – with the likes of Vinicius Junior and Bradley Barcola already linked – Tzolis appears safe for minutes in the front three in the opening gameweeks, and could kick things off with a bang against Coventry.

All it could take is a haul against a newly promoted side for the Greece international to become the first bandwagon of the season, and hitting form in Gameweek 1 could see an increase in his expected minutes as well as his FPL price.

Best Arsenal FPL players 2026/27: Gabriel (£8.0m)

Gabriel has come in with a huge price increase for the new season, hitting the £8.0m mark and sitting a full £1.5m ahead of the closest competition – Virgil van Dijk at £6.5m.

Despite this price hike, the Brazilian still finds himself in almost a third of FPL teams, which is a reminder of just how consistent and reliable the Arsenal centre-back was last campaign.

Frequently touted as a captaincy alternative to the likes of Erling Haaland and Bruno Fernandes last season, the addition of defensive contribution points took Gabriel from being a great pick to a gamebreaking one.

Adding an extra 22 points to an already monstrous total from defensive contributions, it’s no wonder FPL looked to level the playing field by making him significantly more expensive in 2026/27.

Not only was the Arsenal man FPL’s runaway top-scoring defender in 2025/26, but only Haaland and Fernandes outscored him across all positions – suddenly £8.0m doesn’t seem so unreasonable.

The Gunners’ league-leading 19 clean sheets were the core of his huge tally, but notching eight attacking returns in just 30 starts fired Gabriel to the top of the scoring charts.

If Gabriel can continue producing points and attacking returns at such a rate, managers will have a tough decision to make in terms of excluding him throughout the season in favour of spending more in attack.

Best Arsenal FPL players 2026/27: Riccardo Calafiori (£5.5m)

Calafiori grabbed the headlines in the Community Shield with a goal after just 23 seconds, sliding home from a Miles Lewis-Skelly pass to set the tone for the Arsenale dominance to come.

The Italy defender has a penchant for getting involved in the opposition box, and whether playing at left-back or centre-back he has generally found his way to relatively consistent attacking involvments.

While his goal and two assists last season don’t look amazing on paper, the 24-year-old started just 22 games, and this time around he looks set to start the season as the first choice left-back.

This role will give him some license to get involved from open play, and we have seen the kind of instinctive attacking movement he possesses as recently as his goal against Manchester City at the weekend.

Offering plenty of quality on his left foot going forward as well as an aerial threat from set-pieces, the biggest question mark around Calafiori is a propensity for early substitutions, although this can sometimes translate to banking a clean sheet for a defender.

A potential lack of defensive contributions output is also a concern, but clean sheet potential is certainly not in doubt, and those looking for a more defensive contributions oriented pick from the Gunners at this price could consider Cristhian Mosquera, or even Ben White who has carries threat on the other flank.
