Sleeper is an engaging fantasy football app which has an intuitive interface for its users to play fantasy football games.
Engage with your friends or larger public pools with social features and get real-time updates of football news and live scores for an interactive fantasy football experience.
Sleeper initially launched in 2017, covering popular US sports leagues including NFL, NBA and CFB.
They’ve since branched out into football, bringing the Premier League product into its 2024/25 offering with two game modes – and it’s absolutely free to play!
An Introduction to Sleeper: Football
Fantasy football has launched on Sleeper for 2024/25, with the Premier League and Spanish La Liga.
Compete against your friends and keep track of breaking news and latest scores all within the Sleeper app. You can access detailed match stats to keep track of players and team performances.
There are two game modes for their Premier League offering:
- A prediction game called FC Pick’em where you can predict win, lose or draw for every Premier League game.
- Fantasy FC draft, which offers far greater customisation than the Official Fantasy Premier League draft game
That’s not all though, as within the Sleeper app you can connect with us at Fantasy Football Hub through the community chat.
You can send messages in our group chat, including GIFs, emojis and polls, and also message your friends.
Sleeper Fantasy FC Draft game
Fantasy FC is Sleeper’s draft fantasy football game – if you’re familiar with the Premier League’s official draft game, this is a similar format.
Sleeper draft leagues are fully customisable, so showcase your managerial skills by drafting real-life football players to create your ultimate fantasy team.
You gather a group of four to 14 friends to compete against, but only one manager in the league can grab exclusive ownership of each player. Who will acquire Erling Haaland?
You can select your dream team without worrying about budget or player prices.
What can be customised?
Fantasy FC on Sleeper is run under a head-to-head format, so you’ll need an even number of people to take part in the draft, with a minimum of four managers and maximum of 12.
Managers have the opportunity to draft a squad of 17 players with a roster of one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, three forwards plus six bench players and an injury reserve.
The league creator, called the commissioner, has control over running the league. This includes the player waiver system to acquire players after the initial draft. They can also choose the draft type – the order in which managers pick their players.
The draft order can be randomised or manually submitted by the league commissioner. Snake draft reverses the draft order after each round, so whoever picks last in round one then picks first in round two. Linear mode starts each round with the same person.
The commissioner can also set the scoring settings or use the standard scoring within the app presets. Players can be swapped in and out until their match kicks off to maximise points given real-time information. Managers can also trade players. Learn mroe about how to draft on Sleeper here.
FC Pick’em prediction game
To get started on Sleeper’s free-to-play prediction game, download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Look for ‘Premier League Pick’em’ in the football section of Choose Your Game, which is a fantasy prediction-based game.
You can create your own pool with friends, or join a public pool including the Fantasy Football Hub Pick’em.
You’ll be asked to predict the result for every Premier League game of each Matchday, starting with Matchday 1.
Simply click on the club badge of the side you predict will win, or the ‘=’ icon for a draw.
Each correct prediction earns a point, with totals accumulating over the course of the Premier League season and a maximum 380 points on offer.
You’ll be able to track your progress and that of your rivals on the table tab, taking note of the leaders from each Matchday and the overall points for the season so far.
Fantasy Football Hub has it’s own Pick’em pool, which kicks off alongside the FPL Gameweek 1 fixtures and runs to the end of the season.
In the Fantasy Football Hub Pick’em league, you’ll be able to interact with other members of the Hub community in the chat function too.
