Best Sunderland FPL players 2026/27: Enzo Le Fee (£6.0m)

Le Fee looks like one of the strongest options at his price point heading into Gameweek 1, having already established himself as one of Sunderland’s most important attacking players.

The Frenchman produced 11 attacking returns in 33 starts last season, including five goals, while also collecting defensive contribution points on eight occasions.

His appeal has increased further during pre-season, notching three goals and continuing to operate in an advanced midfield role, while remaining a key set-piece taker for Sunderland.

Importantly, this looks to include penalty duties, making his £6.0m price particularly attractive with such a high floor as an asset.

Sunderland’s underlying attacking numbers were not especially strong last season, but Le Fee’s role means he should remain one of their standout options, even with Europa League football potentially creating rotation in other areas of the team.

Best Sunderland FPL players 2026/27: Brian Brobbey (£6.0m)

Other than Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Brobbey looks to be the standout forward pick at his price point for 2026/27.

The Netherlands man produced nine attacking returns in 22 starts last season, and has been heavily involved once again for the Black Cats in pre-season.

With Sunderland’s opening fixtures seemingly offering some attacking potential, both Brobbey and Le Fee could provide budget enablers who have secure minutes to fall back on.

Unlike Calvert-Lewin, Brobbey appears not to have penalties in his locker, but his overall play and physical presence were an integral part of Sunderland’s attacking efforts last season.

Le Bris’ side will perhaps need to do a little bit more in attack for the Dutchman to soar in ownership, but he certainly represents value and perhaps would find himself in more squads if not for Calvert-Lewin’s generous price tag.

Best Sunderland FPL players 2026/27: Dan Ballard (£5.0m)

Ballard was a huge beneficiary of the newly added defensive contribution points last season, earning 28 points from defensive actions in just 24 starts.

The central defender also notched an impressive 11 clean sheets across the season, as well as two goals and two assists – which perhaps slightly undersells the level of aerial dominance offered by Ballard, who will surely be hopeful of building on his goalscoring numbers in a full season.

There’s also a special mention for Trai Hume here, with the Northern Ireland man having filled in at right-wing so far in pre-season.

Predominantly featuring as a right-back last season, Hume has the attacking capabilities to play in this wide role despite his listing as a £4.5m defender in FPL, so could see a huge uptick in attacking numbers compared to the season prior.

With Belgium right-back Thomas Meunier joining the Black Cats this summer, it will be interesting to see whether Hume remains the first choice out wide now that Meunier is there to fill the shoes of the injured Nordi Mukiele.
