Who are the best Ipswich FPL players for the 2024/25 season?

Best Ipswich FPL players 2024/25: Omari Hutchinson (£5.5m)

Hutchinson became Ipswich’s record signing this summer when he penned a permanent deal.

It was an important deal to get over the line, given the ex-Chelsea youngster had been a key part of their promotion campaign.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder scored 10 goals and assisted four in 44 appearances, 20 of which were starts.

He ranked fourth among Ipswich players for goal involvements, with the three ahead of him having played more minutes. This was largely because it took a little while for him to cement his starting role.

But now there is little doubt over his importance to the Tractor Boys – and he looks to be the standout attacking pick.

Hutchinson is ranked by Hub AI as the top Ipswich predicted points scorer for the first five gameweeks (19.9).

Tough opening fixtures do however dent his appeal, and he only ranks eighth best for midfielders priced at £5.5m and below at the time of writing.

Best Ipswich FPL players 2024/25: Leif Davis (£4.5m)

Davis is by far Ipswich’s chief creator, racking up a league-leading 18 assists last season.

He broke the record for the number of assists in a single season for a defender, beating Kieran Trippier’s 10 year record of 14.

Aside from being on the majority of corners and indirect free-kicks, Davis was able to rack up the goal contributions due to his positioning.

Kieran McKenna allows him to bomb forward, acting more as a wing-back or left-winger.

Ipswich scored the most goals in the Championship (92) and Davis contributed two of his own, taking his goal involvements tally to 20.

He was named in the EFL Team of the Season and looks worth the £0.5m extra over his defensive teammates in FPL.

The opening two fixtures may put some off him from Gameweek 1, however he could work well rotating with another budget defender, such as Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen.

Hub AI does not rate Ipswich’s clean sheet chances, which dampens enthusiasm from a predicted points perspective.

But FPL managers wh0 back him to have a similar attacking impact to Luton’s Alfie Doughty last season could start with him in Gameweek 1 and bench him until Gameweek 3.

Best Ipswich FPL players 2024/25: Wes Burns (£5.0m)

Ipswich have a number of injury issues going into the new campaign, with Nathan Broadhead (£5.0m) among those set to miss out initially.

Conor Chaplin (£5.5m) was a consideration for our third pick, however Hutchinson ended the season playing centrally and some Ipswich fans believe he could eventually lose his place in the team.

This is despite Chaplin having the most goal involvements in the squad last season – 13 goals and eight assists.

Chaplin also comes in at the same price as Hutchinson, who we rate as the better fantasy option.

We have therefore selected right-sided midfielder Burns as our final selection, with him expected to retain his place in the starting 11 as things stand.

Burns managed six goals and four assists in 35 appearances last season. He will likely offer less attacking threat than Hutchinson and Davis but is priced as a £5.0m midfielder.

There are other options at this price, such as Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

But Hub AI ranks Burns second among Ipswich players for Gameweek 1-5 predicted points and could be an option for those looking to save cash.
