Who are the best Crystal Palace FPL players for the 2026/27 season?

Best Crystal Palace FPL players: Daniel Munoz (£5.5m)

It remains to be seen how explosive defender Munoz will be utilised under a new manager, but the Colombian provided further reminder of his attacking qualities through his contributions at the World Cup.

Munoz managed eight attacking returns in 29 starts during Oliver Glasner’s final season, and has displayed a greater level of consistent goal and assist threat than the majority of defenders in the league.

While he doesn’t offer the defensive contribution points potential of departing France international Maxence Lacroix, his reasonable price of £5.5m could see Munoz compete with defensive contribution monsters like Lacroix and James Tarkowski for a place in our squads.

His role will certainly be key, and new manager Pierre Sage has already utilised a 3-4-3 system in pre-season, indicating that Munoz could be set to benefit once again from starting as a wing-back rather than an orthodox fullback.

Given the swashbuckling performances we have seen from Munoz even throughout some patchy Palace form, there is every reason to anticipate further attacking returns under Sage, who favours a high intensity attacking style that may leave gaps at the back.

As such, it’s hard to predict how the Eagles will perform defensively in the absence of Glasner and now Lacroix, but those looking at Munoz are probably placing greater weight on his actions in the opposition box, and the opening fixtures certainly favour that approach more than one seeking clean sheets.

Those looking for a cut-price alternative in the Palace backline could consider Chris Richards at £5.0m or Tyrick Mitchell at £4.5m, who are both expected to perform well for defensive contributions based on last season’s data.

Best Crystal Palace FPL players: Ismaila Sarr (£6.5m)

Sarr looks to be one of the standout options at his price point, coming in at a generous £6.5m after producing 11 attacking returns in 24 starts.

The Senegal international had various absences related to both injury and AFCON participation in 2025/26, resulting in fewer starts than usual for the 28-year-old – but those gaps aside he has been in some of the strongest attacking form of his career.

Four goals at the 2026 World Cup crowned Sarr as Senegal’s record goalscorer, and at this stage in his career we have seen enough evidence that he is capable of producing elite attacking numbers in the right setup.

One caveat to Sarr’s FPL potential this time around is that last season he was utilised almost as a secondary forward alongside Jean-Philippe Mateta, and there is every chance he could be deployed as a more traditional winger with a new manager in place.

There is some possibility of of involvement with penalties, and with Mateta being linked to various clubs around Europe, a transfer in that department could see Sarr take on an even greater role as the previous taker when the Frenchman has been off the pitch.

Regardless of how wide he plays, there are very few assets in this price range offering his combination of secure minutes and consistent goal threat, and as such Sarr’s ownership already sits above the 10% mark – despite a mixed bag of opening fixtures, significant pace and threat on the counter make the Senegal man more fixture-proof than many similarly-priced assets.

There’s an honourable mention for Will Hughes here, who is one of a handful of cheap midfielders that can free up maximum funds for the rest of your squad while still picking up solid minutes for his side.

Best Crystal Palace FPL players: Jean-Philippe Mateta (£6.5m)

Coming in at a reduced FPL price of £6.5m this time around, France striker Mateta is hot property in the transfer market – and if he stays at Crystal Palace he could be an very useful fantasy option too.

Dropping in value from £7.5m last season, Mateta looks the clearest choice to be Palace’s first choice penalty taker, as well as their main attacking threat from open play.

The 29-year-old is at the peak of his powers, and combines excellent finishing and hold up play with pace, clever movement and a substantial threat in the air. There is little doubt that he will be Palace’s focal point if he stays, regardless of the change in manager.

The main risk is one of rotation, with Palace playing European football again and Jorgen Strand Larsen representing another well respected number nine at the club, but this appears more likely to translate to early substitutions for Mateta rather than benchings.

Mateta was handed some time off following the World Cup however, and as such missed the start of Crystal Palace’s pre-season training, which could reduce his expected minutes for Gameweek 1.

Interruptions related to injuries last season meant the Frenchman only managed 25 Premier League starts, but he still produced 12 goals, and we have plenty of evidence of how high is ceiling is as an FPL asset when he’s in a purple patch – including 23 attacking returns in 25 starts in 2023/24.
